1. Can you clarify what I get when I buy your software?
All Stimulsoft products are sold based on a subscription model.Upon purchasing a Subscription for Stimulsoft embedding tools and Stimulsoft Server, you will receive a developer license (based on the number of developer seats purchased) and access for those developers to design reports using the standalone (Desktop) and online (Cloud) report designers.
Upon purchasing a Subscription for Stimulsoft Designer and Cloud you will receive a report creator license (based on the number of creator seats purchased) and access for those creators to design reports using the standalone (Desktop) and online (Cloud) report designers.
Additionally, the Subscription includes technical support and provides 12 months of free updates for the product(s) from the date of purchase, covering both minor and major versions. The developer license allows you to use the software in your projects, while the standalone and online report designer licenses allow you to create reports and dashboards using the Desktop and Cloud designers.
2. Could you clarify the difference between a developer, report creator, and tester?
A Developer license applies to the integration of Stimulsoft software into software applications. A Developer is any individual who has access to Stimulsoft libraries, assemblies, and/or scripts and uses them in application development, including building, compiling, linking, configuring, or debugging applications. Additionally, a Developer (under the developer license for embedded tools) is any individual who creates reports using either the standalone (desktop) designer or the online designer and may require technical support from the Stimulsoft technical team. A Developer may install ONE copy of the standalone (Desktop) designer.A term Report Creator is applicable to report design using Stimulsoft Designer and Stimulsoft Cloud. A Report Creator is any individual who creates and edits reports and/or dashboards using the standalone (Desktop) designer and/or the online (Cloud) designer. A Creator license can be used only for report and dashboard design and does not grant the right to develop, build, compile, link, configure, debug, or otherwise create applications using Stimulsoft libraries, assemblies, or scripts. A Report Creator does not have access to the license key for embedded tools and does not use Stimulsoft components in application development. A Report Creator may install ONE copy of the standalone (Desktop) designer.
Tester. If you have a testing team whose members need access to Stimulsoft libraries, assemblies, scripts, or embedded tools in order to build, compile, configure, or otherwise work with the application, then each of those testers must hold a Developer license. A Tester may install ONE copy of the standalone (desktop) designer. Testers who only test the completed and compiled application - using it in the same way as end users - do not require a license.
3. Can you help me choose the Subscription that suits me best?
The main difference between Subscriptions is the number of developers or/and report creators (the “employee/s”) from your company who will be working with our reporting tools to develop your application or to design reports using the Desktop or Cloud report designers. You should purchase a Subscription for each developer/creator seat. A build server (a centralized, stable, and reliable environment for building development projects) also requires a Subscription.Four types of Subscriptions are available:
- Single
This Subscription allows one employee to use our product (does not include a build server license for embedded tools); - Team
This Subscription allows up to four (4) employees to use our product and includes a license for one (1) build server for embedded tools; - Enterprise
This Subscription allows up to fifteen (15) employees to use our product and includes a license for one (1) build server for embedded tools; - Worldwide
This Subscription allows an unlimited number of employees to use our product at unlimited locations worldwide and includes a license for one (1) build server for embedded tools.
*** The Site license, which was available for sale until 2022, does not include a build server license.
4. Do we have to purchase separate subscriptions for each customer who uses our product?
No. Using our product embedded in your applications does not require additional subscriptions for your clients. Our product comes with runtime royalty-free licensing, meaning your customers can utilize the software without requiring additional payments.5. Is Subscription based on a per-company or per-named developer basis?
Our Subscription is per company, not per named user. We recognize that the personnel in your development team may shift over time, and you may transfer the licenses among developers within your company as needed. We highly suggest that you assign licenses to your developers by including them in your company account to prevent any problems and additional verifications. Doing so will enable us to recognize your personnel as eligible for receiving technical support and requesting any other services we may offer within the Subscription.6. Is it necessary to renew a Subscription annually?
You may renew your subscription at any point throughout the year. The upgrade comes at a 50% off the original product price. As your Subscription approaches its end, we will send you a reminder, giving you an extra 90 days (grace period) to snag the renewal at half the cost - like getting a subscription for a Single developer at just 449.95 USD.Once that grace period expires, you are looking at the full subscription price (899.95 USD for a Single developer). So, our advice is to renew on time.
You can check the status of your subscription in your personal account.
Failing to update the subscription will result in you being unable to obtain timely technical support and new versions with fixes and updates. If you encounter a problem that requires a fix but do not have an active subscription, you will need to renew before you can benefit from the solution.
Please note: when you renew your subscription within the grace period, the new subscription term will start from the end date of the previous subscription, not from the payment date.
7. Does the software become unusable after the Subscription ends?
The license for the software is perpetual, meaning you may continue to utilize the product versions that were released before the Subscription's expiration, and they will never cease functioning.To further elaborate, even after your Subscription has ended, you will still have access to the product versions that were made available to you while your Subscription was active. These product versions will continue to work as they did before the Subscription's expiration, and you may use them for as long as you need without any interruptions.
However, it's worth noting that you will no longer receive new product versions or updates, and you won't be eligible for technical support unless you renew your Subscription.
8. How do I assign a product license to a developer in my company?
After purchasing a Stimulsoft product, each product license must be assigned to a specific developer. You can manage and assign licenses to developers directly in your account. A detailed step-by-step guide on how to add and manage developers is available in this article.9. How can I get a discount on your product?
We offer discounts for academic institutions and provide flexible pricing options. If you are purchasing multiple Subscriptions, represent a startup, or believe you may be eligible for a discount, please contact our sales manager - we will be happy to discuss available options.We also offer seasonal discounts. To stay informed about promotions, we recommend subscribing to our news and checking updates on our website. Information about current promotional offers is usually displayed at the top of the website as a banner below the main menu.
10. What payment methods do you accept?
We offer various payment methods for your convenience, including credit cards, bank transfers, PayPal, ACH and many other options specific to your country. If you have any questions or concerns about payment methods, pleaseFor purchase orders, we accept NET30 terms. The purchase order must be signed and sent as a PDF. PO numbers submitted without the accompanying document will not be accepted.
11. Can you supply a proforma invoice?
If you require a proforma invoice, please send an email to- Which product do you want to buy (Reports.WEB, Dashboards.WIN, Ultimate, or other)?;
- Which license do you require (Single, Team, Site, Worldwide)?;
- Do you require source code? (Yes/No);
- Your company details, including the company name, postal address, tax ID, email, and the contact person's name. Our team will be glad to provide you with the requested proforma invoice.
12. What is the process for purchasing your product?
Purchasing our product is straightforward. Go to our Online Store, and select the product and Subscription type you need by clicking on the corresponding price. To process online orders and collect payments, Stimulsoft has contracts with PayPro Global Inc.13. We encountered an issue when trying to place an order on your website, as we noticed a VAT amount added to the order.
We believe that since the order is placed from a foreign country, you are not required to pay VAT. However, we understand that VAT can be waived if a valid VAT ID is provided during the ordering process. If a valid tax ID is not provided, the local VAT rate will be charged.To ensure that VAT is waived, please place the order as a Business (legal entity), not as a private individual, and enter a correct tax ID. If the tax ID you entered is identified as invalid, please check it again and
14. What is the process for obtaining a license for Stimulsoft products?
Once your order has been paid and processed on our side, the license will be added to your company account. The license key/activation code will be available there.To activate Stimulsoft products, you need to use either an activation code or a license key file. In your account, click the “License key" button, then copy the activation code or download the license.key file. Follow the instructions provided under the selected activation option to apply the activation code or the license key file.
You only need to apply the activation once when you start your application or service.
To activate the desktop report designer, you must just sign in to the designer.

15. How do I renew my Subscription?
Renewing your Subscription is easy. You can simply log in to your company account and select the renewal option. If you wish to purchase the product from a reseller, please contact them again (if needed) to renew your Subscription. They will assist you in purchasing a new Subscription.16. How can I upgrade my Subscription from a version without source code to a version with source code, or from Single license to Team, etc.?

19. What types of support do you offer?
We offer support services to developers and report creators related to our reporting software. The use of these services is governed by the policies and programs outlined in the user manual, online documentation, and other materials provided by Stimulsoft. Minor and major updates and product fixes of our tool are available at no additional charge (within the active subscription) and can be used in production environments. Our technical team offers technical support through our helpdesk system (Zendesk).20. Do you update the current product version?
No, we do not update an existing version in place. Instead, we regularly release new product versions that include fixes, improvements, and updates. Customers with an active Subscription can download and use the latest available versions.21. How frequently do you release new versions?
For all subscriptions, we release major updates 3-5 times per year. In addition, we publish minor releases once a month or more frequently, when required, that include the most recent fixes and improvements.22. I reported a bug. How will I know when it has been fixed?
Once a reported bug is fixed, the information will appear in the release notes history. In addition, we will reply to your support request and let you know that the issue has been resolved, including the product version in which the fix is available.23. Do you offer a premium level of support?
No, we do not offer a separate premium support level. Instead, we provide the option to purchase training hours. These training sessions can be used to help resolve specific issues, learn more about our products, and gain the knowledge needed to handle similar tasks independently in the future.24. What am I paying for when buying an online training?

25. Why might I need the source code?
We provide not only integration files but also compiled binaries. In addition, it is possible to purchase the source code for further customization of our software. However, there are several usage restrictions:- You must not rename source file names;
- You must not redistribute or share the source code with third parties in an uncompiled form;
- You must not remove our copyright notices from the source files.
Access to the Stimulsoft software source code means you receive the complete report engine source rather than just the compiled library. This allows for deeper customization, such as extending report functionality, applying custom fixes or adjustments, debugging, and gaining greater independence for future development.
After purchasing a license with the source code, it will become available in your company account under the Source Code button.
26. Can I try your products before I buy them? Do you offer a trial license key?
Yes, we offer a trial version of our software for evaluation. The latest version is available on our Downloads page. The trial version includes all the functionality of the full version, but can only be used for a limited time (30 days) and may have some restrictions, such as a ‘trial’ watermark on report pages. We encourage developers to download and test our products to see if they meet their requirements before purchasing. A trial license key is not required.
