Today we would like to announce an upcoming change to the system requirements for Stimulsoft Reports and Stimulsoft Dashboards. Starting with release 2026.4.1, support for .NET Framework 4.5.2 will be discontinued. The minimum required version for our products will be .NET Framework 4.6.2.
Why are we making this change?
Microsoft ended support for .NET Framework 4.5.2 in April 2022. Since then, the framework has no longer received security updates or technical support. In addition, many third-party libraries and development tools have also dropped support for this version, making it increasingly difficult to maintain compatibility while continuing to improve our products.Migrating to .NET Framework 4.6.2 enables us to use the latest versions of dependent libraries, improve reliability, simplify maintenance, and continue delivering new features and fixes.
What does this mean for you?
If your application targets .NET Framework 4.6.2 or later, no action is required. If your project still targets .NET Framework 4.5.2, you will need to retarget it to .NET Framework 4.6.2 or a newer version before upgrading to Stimulsoft Reports and Dashboards 2026.4.1.
We will also make every effort to continue providing source code that can be compiled with .NET Framework 4.5.2 for customers with Source Code licenses. However, we cannot guarantee that all new features and enhancements introduced in future releases will function correctly on this framework.
Summary
Starting with Stimulsoft Reports and Dashboards 2026.4.1, the minimum supported version of the .NET Framework will be 4.6.2.Please note that this change applies only to the .NET Framework. The minimum supported version for .NET remains unchanged and continues to be .NET 6.0.
