I have been using Crystal Reports XI for reporting in a C# windows forms application and it just hasn't been meeting my needs. I used the Stimulsoft Reports.Net on one of our more complex labeling reports, and was able to get the report done in a day. Everything from margins to layout is a breeze compared to Crystal and once I understood bands, containers, and clones and got the enumerable data source working based on your sample code, the report printed out exactly as I designed it.

Things I really like in Stimulsoft Reports.Net (and why I've bought it). The ability to use C# Code in the report or via my own assemblies is just wonderful. There is no need to use some cryptic Pascal like script language. Just C#, which I obviously already use. Just great. In Stimulsoft Reports.Net it is very easy to save / load the report or the rendered report to a database. Just using the WritetoString and LoadFromString methods. No more hassle with Streams. Databinding is very easy and can be done from inside the application or from the report. So it should be. Overall this should be the report generator to be shipping with VS, not Crystal Reports, which isn't even written in managed code.

I have been evaluating Stimulsoft Reports.Net and I am impressed by the quality of the product, very well engineered component, well thought out and well designed user/developer interface. I just bought it. Comparing to a few other big name reporting components, in my opinion StimulReport.Net is currently right up there among the bests. The good thing I see is that the software focuses on what it is meant to do and do it well without clever ads embedded into the product.

I use Stimulsoft Reports.Net with Visual C# 2005 and VistaDB. Originally I used Crystal Reports, but had Big Problems with the Access. So I've tested Stimulsoft Reports.Net and was 100% satisfied. It's Easy to use. The functionality is exactly what I need and until now I do not reach any boundaries. It's extremely good embedded into the Visual C# Environment. A Big plus is the possibility to save the Report As C# source Code and include the Files directly into source-Code. It was Easy to create the Reports with the Report wizard and it's also Easy to change the Reports later. I've tested a Lot of other products (like ActiveReport) but I never repented the decision for StimulReport.Net.

It's a great product which I really like to recommend.

I spent a couple of weeks looking for an end-user reporting tool that we could integrate into our software. Most of the .NET report writers I looked at wanted the user to edit their report in Visual Studio (or something similar) which can be intimidating for non-developers. I needed an easy-to-use reporting tool for my users. Stimulsoft has such an extensive API that you can set it up to work for novice users, advanced users or anywhere in-between. I was able to provide a very nice integration into my product. And, the technical support is superb. I have never seen a company that is so responsive to questions and quick to fix issues that arise. Actually I am new to this reporting tool, so I misunderstood that the variables are as the Formula (In Crystal Reports). Later I spent some more time, and got it and my reports are ready now. Basically it is a conversion project. The client wanted a replacement for Crystal reports and they have suggested us 3 tools (one of that is Stimulsoft) and gave us some of the toughest reports that they have in Crystal Reports. Initially I had few issues; I posted the questions, and was quite impatience for the replies. So I went through the entire Forum once and got the answers for all my questions. I have completed my task. My Vote on the 3 Tools is Stimulsoft Reports.Net only.

It offers feature rich reporting, flexibility, source code, etc. Everything one looks for in a .Net report writer. I develop a softwarepackage called 'ASAP'. It's an ordering/invoicing system for Shipchandlers. The program is written in Delphi win32. For reporting I use(d) reportbuilder of Digital Metaphors. One of my customers have a windows 2003 small business server running. This server also serves as printerserver. Since while they have problems with printing reports from my software. I tried everything (new driver, support from digital metaphors, reprogram parts of my software), but in the end I have found no solution (I think it has to do with some memory leaking). So I decided to use Stimulsoft Reports.Net, because I have a valid license for this and good experience. The problem of course is how to call .net code from win32. I found a solution using managed extension dll written in VC++. The whole point of my story is: what a perfect tool Stimulsoft Reports.Net is! What a breeze to work with it. I remember myself struggling with reportbuilder of Digital metaphors. It took me for ages to build the reports I needed with that tool. Things as running totals, stretching and shifting regions. I converted all reports (about 20) to Stimulsoft Reports.Net in about 20 hours and I was enjoying myself every hour!
